Vladimir Jablokov returns for one night only.  Playing pieces from his wonderful debut CD ‘Classical Twist: The Album’, Vladimir will perform his unique, fresh hybrid of music old and new he calls ‘Classical Twist.  From Bach to Beatles, The Stones to Strauss – Vladimir’s superb virtuoso performances have been delighting TV, radio and concert audiences up and down the country.

The show delighted audiences the length and breath of the country in 2011.  Since then Vladimir has released his debut CD Classical Twist: The Album and charmed viewers and listeners on The Late Late Show, RTE Radio 1, Lyric FM and many more.

Vladimir is one of the best young musical talents currently playing in Ireland. 'Classical Twist' showcases a dynamic band of Slovak and Irish musicians taking familiar pieces from the world of both the classics and rock-pop; and reworking them in into new, vibrant, exciting shapes.

In the world of 'Classical Twist',  Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake' sees the swans flying down to Rio for the carnival, the Rolling Stones' 'Paint It Black' is resprayed as a red-hot gypsy mazurka and Lynryd Skynrd's 'Freebird' takes flight into stratospheric regions previously uncharted. Sparkling champagne arrangements are poured into familiar bottles from the Strauss, Brahms and Dvorak cellars; whilst newer vintages from Messrs. Morrison, McCartney and Bowie receive the full Vladimir Classical Twist.

Vladimir Jablokov started playing the violin aged five, making his stage debut at the tender age of ten. Coming from four generations of professional music makers, with a Russian maestro for a father and five musical siblings around him at home; Vladimir is steeped in the classical tradition.

Vladimir arrived in Ireland in 2004 part of the Eastern European diaspora welcomed at the height of the Celtic Tiger years. Originally only planning to stay in Ireland for a few months; he soon found work and money hard to come by. Having little English, he quickly decided to let his music do the talking and started busking on Grafton Street. Getting a taste for live performance, he formed the Slovak Festival Quartet in 2006 with some friends. 

With a burgeoning reputation, Vladimir played some of Ireland's most prestigous venues; including The National Concert Hall, The Gaeity Theatre, Marlay Park, Cork Opera House, Limerick UCH and, at the behest of then President McAleese; to an audience in Aras an Uachtarain

Twice winner of the meteor award in the best folk/trad category, John Spillane has toured the country and the world spreading joy with a mix of melodic tunes, entertaining stories and poetic lyrics.

Christmas 2009 brought us the follow up to Johns double platinum selling album ‘Irish Songs We Learned at School’ with a new collection ‘More Irish Songs We Learned at School’. This new collection features great Irish musicians Christy Moore and Séan Ó Sé and will get everyone singing the songs of their youth. 

Not only that but last year saw Spillane release his first best of album ‘So Far So Good, Like’. Medora, a young Greek girl, is sold by a slave dealer. The pirate Conrad seizes Medora and declares his love for her. Conrad’s right-hand-man, who is jealous of Conrad, sends Medora back to the slave dealer who sells her back to her former owner. Conrad and his men show up to take Medora away again but he is recognized through his disguise, captured, and sentenced to death. To save his life, Medora, now in love with Conrad, plots with another slave girl, Gulnare, and tricks her owner into marrying Gulnare. That evening Medora dances for Pasha, convinces him to lay down his weapons, and Conrad enters to take her away. The ship on which Medora and Conrad escape sinks in a terrible storm but the two lovers are saved when they wash up on a rocky island

In Shelagh Stephenson's award-winning, hilarious black comedy The Memory of Water, three sisters come together in a highly charged atmosphere on the eve of their mother's funeral. With snow falling outside they laugh and cry, rage and bicker as the conflicts of the past and their hold on the present are mercilessly exposed.
