Those Hucklebuck Days: The Story of The Showband Years

Those Hucklebuck Days: The Story of The Showband Years

Date:  5th May

Time: 3:00pm

Price: Ticket: €19.00

The second in our Sunday Afternoon Concert series at the Theatre Royal, Those Hucklebuck Days: The Story of The Showband Years is a heady tribute to pure nostalgia as we revisit those hits that played each day on the radio and dominated the ballrooms of romance, like Waterford’s Olympia or The Atlantic in Tramore. From Tom Jones to Dickie Rock, Eileen Reid to Dusty Springfield, relive your memories as we pay homage to the heady days of the great showband craze in Ireland and, more specifically in Waterford. The Great Singalong Songbook stars Linda Kenny and Damian Smith, MC Alf McCarthy, and our fabulous Songbook Band (MD Alan Carney), are joined by our very own Showband Legend, Art Supple of the Victor Showband.

NOTE: This concert was a complete sell out, twice, in Cork’s Everyman Theatre. Not to be missed!

Tea, coffee, and pastries will be on sale in the cafe before the concert and at the interval.

Written and directed by Cathal MacCabe.
