Exciting News for Theatre Acts

Comedian Al Porter, who will perform his stand-up show Al Porter At Large at the Theatre Royal on Friday 25th November, has been nominated for an IFTA Rising Star Award. The award aims to acknowledge new and upcoming talent in the media in Ireland and while the shortlist is selected by industry experts, the final vote is left to the public. Vladimir And Anton, the Slovakian siblings who bring their classical violin show to the Theatre stage on Friday 21st October, will be apeparing on The Late Late Show this Friday evening (16th). They will be on the show to launch their new album, Vladimir & Anton Live which was recorded at Wexford Arts Centre earlier this year. This comes days after their acclaimed apperance at the BBC Proms at the Titanic building in Belfast and their recent tour with Katherine Jenkins.

 

Lisa Hannigan has just announced that she will be appearing at the Theatre Royal in December as part of her tour to promote her number one selling album At Swim. Tickets go on sale Thursday 15th at 9am.

 

And perhaps most excitingly TheatreBox Productions will be staging a Flash Mob somewhere in the city this weekend to promote their upcoming 10 night run of the classic high school musical Grease. Watch out for the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies near you in Waterford this weekend, you never know when they will strike. As part of this promotion they are running a Flash Mob Flash Sale.
