THEATRE ROYAL BRINGS AN EXCITING LINE UP OF THEATRE, COMEDY, MUSIC AND FAMILY EVENTS THIS SUMMER

A must for Theatre lovers two short masterpieces by one of Ireland’s greatest writers, SAMUEL BECKETT.   Footfalls will be performed by Waterford actress, Carrie Crowley who will be familiar to Irish audiences from her work in film and television. Krapp’s Last Tape will be performed by Arthur Riordan, the Irish actor and writer, whose work with Rough Magic Theatre Company is well known throughout the country.  These Plays will be resident in Theatre Royal for 5 weeks on Thursdays and Fridays from June June 22nd.

Bringing “COMEDY AT THE ROYAL “ , Irelands upcoming comedians will take  to the stage – JASON BYRNE, FURTHER TED, and KARL SPAIN.  For Musical lovers Waterford’s IGNITE PRODUCTIONS will present IN THE HEIGHTS –featuring the wonderful talent of Vicki Graham, Gretta Rochford, Anne Marie Collins, Tom Rogers and Brian Tuohy.

An exciting and thrilling offering of Music acts featuring the return of country star NATHAN CARTER, singer/songwriter MOYA BRENNAN, ELEANOR MC EVOY, SHARON SHANNON, THE FOUR OF US,  BRIAN KENNEDY and  the much talked about LEONARD COHEN MASS featuring the talents of John McKenna.

Also featuring Traditional Irish music by KILA; Classic Country music by COUNTRY CLASSICS and as part of his Irish tour American Country/Folk singer-songwriter JOHN PRINE (early booking advisable)

Tributes Bands: THE MAGIC OF THE BEATLES, ELIO PACE/BILLY JOEL, KATE BUSH and THE JOHN MC CORMACK SONGBOOK.

Our very own Dundalk CLASSICAL TENOR DAVE MARTIN is a man forging ahead with successful careers in both the Music world and with the Irish Army.

Following its national tour Waterford’s Ground Floor Productions will present THE COLLECTOR by John Flowles a play running over three evenings. The Collector is a story of possession, obsession and love is considered one of the great works in modern literature starring Andrew Holden and Paula Weldon.

Also for families LITTLE RED KETTLE with its 26th production will perform THE ISLAND OF THE LOST CHILDREN.  In June Lyngo Theatre present THERE AND BACK AGAIN AN ODYSSEY;  In August come and enjoy a performance of HAIRY MACLARY with music, singing and several of your favourite Hairy Maclary stories, this show is a must for the whole family. 

As well as the exciting Programme HISTORICAL TOURS will continue and for groups of theatre lovers INTERACTIVE TOURS are available throughout the summer.  Primary School Teachers see the DRAMA IN THE CLASSROOM course on offer.   Enjoy a great cup of coffee in CAFÉ ROYAL and experience the beautiful MUNICIPAL ARTS COLLECTION on show throughout the building.
