At the Theatre Royal we respect the privacy of our customers and supporters to our theatre and our website. Our private policy will inform you how we collect information, what we do with it and what controls you have.


What Information we collect about you

When you book tickets, purchase gift vouchers, membership or merchandise through our Box Office at Theatre Royal, your name, phone number, email and address will be stored by our ticketing partner, Ticketsolve. This information is used to process your order and to provide you with the service you may have requested.

When you book tickets online or over the phone, data is shared between Theatre Royal, Realex (payment gateway) and Ticketsolve (ticketing platform) in order to process the transaction.

If you have provided credit card details, these will only be used for the purpose of handling an individual booking or order.

Your record on our database system holds the contact details you submitted to us, transactions you’ve made, a record of communications we would have sent to you, and whether or not you have given us permission to contact you and if so, what your preferred method of contact is.


The information that you provide to us will only be used for its stated purpose. We will never sell your information or disclose it to external parties unless obliged to disclose such as information by a rule of law.

Third Party

There is an opt-in box at the bottom of the check-out page when purchasing tickets on Theatre Royal’s website. If you wish to receive our monthly emails about upcoming events you can tick the opt-in box. We use a third party provider, Mailchimp, to email you our monthly e-zines, which includes information about our upcoming events or special offers.

Mailchimp is a marketing automated platform and an email marketing service which does not share your information but allows us to send you monthly emails about our upcoming events and our season ahead. We also gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help monitor and improve our marketing. Online Advertising

We use third party tools and services on our website - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin – to enhance your experience, help you share information or enable us to optimise online advertising campaigns. It enables us to create custom audiences of people who have expressed an interest in a particular event or service based on their behaviour on the site. These include social like and share buttons. We also use these services to advertise upcoming events and run competitions. We occasionally use Survey Monkey to carry out surveys.
