We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure you can enjoy a safe trip to the theatre.

In line with the Government’s new ‘Plan for Living with Covid-19’ and following a comprehensive risk assessment and seating reconfiguration here at Theatre Royal this morning, we are delighted to confirm that our seating capacity for all upcoming shows has now increased to 100.

We’d like to reassure our loyal customers that there will be a strict 2-metre distance in place between all booking parties. 


Helpful Tips on a daytime visit to the theatre box office:

We recommend wearing a face covering when entering the building.

There is a one-way system in place, please take note of entry and exit doors.

Upon entering the building please use the hand sanitiser provided.

Please follow the socially distance queuing system, floor markings are in place.

Please wait to be called to the box office desk, this signage will be clearly located.

We will not be issuing tickets, we will email you your seat number and location 2 days before the performance*

 *if you do not have an email address we will contact you 2 days before the performance with your seat number and location.


Helpful Tips on arrival to the theatre for a performance:

Face coverings are manditory as you make your way throughout the theatre. Face coverings are required until you take your seats in the auditorium.Disposable Face coverings will be available for sale if you are unable to bring your own. 

There will be one entrance into the theatre through the vestibule entrance on the Mall, you will receive information along with your seating allocation by email 2 days before the event.

A member of staff will greet you at the entrance door and confirm your seating allocation. Please maintain your distance from other patrons. It is useful to have your seating allocation details with you,

Clear signage will be in place throughout the building, please follow instructions from our FOH team as these will guide you to your seats and facilities. 

Ordering drinks on arrival at the theatre:

Vestibule Kiosk opens from 6.30pm where a range of refeshments will be served – access to kiosk to be accessed from vestibule entrance only.

  • Table service only will apply – no bar counter service available.
  • Contactless payments is preferred.
  • The Kiosk will close at 7.50pm sharp.

PLEASE NOTE: Following the performance and throughout your time at the theatre your exit from the building will be the same door by which you entered.

We ask that you follow the direction from our FOH team throughout your visit.
